The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is slated to begin in Pakistan from February 19 onwards, but Team India will be playing its matches in Dubai. However, reports have stated that India captain Rohit Sharma might visit Pakistan for the opening ceremony of the prestigious event.

The eight-team event will feature Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, and South Africa, and hosts Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to hold a big opening ceremony for the Champions Trophy on February 16 or 17, depending on the schedule of warm-up matches. As is customary for ICC events, all team captains are expected to participate.

"Indian Team captain will visit Pakistan to attend the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy as PCB plans a grand event, marking the return of a mega international cricket event to Pakistan after 29 years," sources told IANS.

Pakistan will host its first major ICC tournament since co-hosting the 1996 Wills World Cup with India and Sri Lanka. The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start on February 19.

Pakistan will host the majority of the matches in the hybrid format of the event, although Dubai will host all of India's group matches and the first semi-final. The final will also be transferred to Dubai if India qualifies; if not, the final match will take place in Lahore.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will begin with host Pakistan taking on New Zealand in Karachi, and the highly anticipated India v Pakistan match is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
