Champions Trophy 2025 to be played in Pakistan and at a neutral venue from Feb 19 to Mar 9.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in a hybrid model with Pakistan hosting the tournament and India’s matches to be played at a neutral venue. However, this approval has also come with a compromise between the two boards, BCCI and PCB.
As per the ICC statement on December 19, the future India and Pakistan matches hosted by either country in ICC events during the 2024-2027, will be played at neutral venues as well.
“This will apply to the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 (hosted by Pakistan), set to be played in February and March 2025, as well as the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 (hosted by India) and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (hosted by India and Sri Lanka).
It was also announced that the PCB has been awarded hosting rights of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, where neutral venue arrangements will also apply,” the ICC statement read.
Cricket Australia is planning to host one of the senior ICC women's events from 2029 to 2031.
The calendar for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be announced soon, with Pakistan attempting to defend their championship from 2017.
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, and South Africa will compete in the eight-team tournament, which is hosted by Pakistan.
