Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are both struggling with the bat in ongoing BGT 2024.
Anil Kumble, former India captain, and coach, has asked netizens to be vigilant after fake quotes attributed to him about Virat Kohli’s form and Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in the ongoing BGT 2024 went viral on social media.
The Indian bowling great broke his silence after false claims claiming to be from Kumble were extensively circulated online before and during the third Test of the series, that is being played in Brisbane.
These remarks criticized Rohit Sharma's leadership and Virat Kohli's form, causing needless social media ire and escalating the drama surrounding the crucial series between Australia and India.
Kumble, however, clarified that he was not connected to these quotations and disassociated himself from the accounts spreading this false information.
“It has come to my attention that some social media accounts are using my image and attributing fabricated quotes to me. I want to categorically deny any association with these accounts and their content. The statements being circulated are not my views and do not reflect my opinions in any way,” Kumble wrote on X.
"I urge everyone to be vigilant and not believe everything they see on social media. Please verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it. My official social media channels are the only reliable source for my views and statements,” he added.
