On Saturday (November 30), the cricketing world saw a glimpse of Rohit’s ardent fanbase as the Indian captain found himself surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters in Canberra, where the Indian team was preparing for a warm-up fixture against Australia's Prime Minister's XI.
Rohit was left overwhelmed by the outpouring of love. Amid the requests for autographs and selfies, he humorously told one fan, “Ek time par ek hi kaam ho sakta hai” (Only one task can be done at a time).

The warm-up fixture in Canberra came at a crucial time as India are preparing for the upcoming pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide. However, rain played a spoilsport, robbing the visitors of the much-needed practice.
To make up for the lost time, the team was scheduled to play a 50-over-a-side game on the second day, weather permitting.
This fixture was significant for Rohit to acclimatize to the Australian conditions in a match situation. He missed the series opener in Perth due to paternity leave.
Having won the Perth Test by 295 runs, India are leading the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 1-0. The second game of the five-Test series is slated to get underway on December 6.
