India posted 404 runs in 1st inns with Pujara, Iyer and Ashwin scoring half-centuries.
India resumed from 278/6 on day two and lost Shreyas Iyer early for 86 runs. But then R Ashwin (58) and Kuldeep Yadav (40) helped India inch towards the 400-run mark with an excellent 92-run partnership for the 8th wicket.
Some lusty blows by Umesh Yadav helped India finish on 404 runs. Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam took four wickets each for Bangladesh.
Mohammed Siraj gave India the perfect start getting rid of Najmul Hossain on the first ball of the innings and then Umesh Yadav castled Yasir Ali for 4 runs. Then debutant Zakir Hasan and experienced Litton Das batted well until tea was called for by which Bangladesh had scored 37/2.
Shortly after the resumption of the innings after tea, Siraj got into a verbal confrontation with Litton Das, after he beat him on the off-stump with a quick delivery. Litton tried to mock Siraj by cupping his ear to listen better to what Siraj was saying to him.

But the Hyderabad bowler came back with the best reply, as he bowled a quick ball, which stayed low and took Litton’s bottom edge before crashing into the stumps, ending his knock on 24 runs. Siraj celebrated by putting his finger on his lips.
Apart from Siraj, Virat Kohli, who was stationed in slips, also gestured towards the crowd to now make noise and asked them what happened that they were so quiet.
