Mohammad Shahzad becomes the second Afghanistan cricketer hit 50+ sixes in the One Day cricket.

Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad slammed his fifth One Day International ton in the Asia Cup 2018 Super Four encounter on Tuesday (September 25) to help his team to brilliantly tie the game against India in Dubai.

With the knock, which came in 88 balls comprising with seven sixes and 10 fours, Shahzad became the first Afghanistan player to score a hundred against India, as well as, the second Afghanistan cricketer after Mohammed Nabi to hit 50+ sixes in the One Day cricket. He also achieved another feat in the six-nation tournament as his 124 is the highest individual score by a wicket-keeper in Asia Cup history.

It was an enthralling encounter between India and Afghanistan, who played out a brilliant tie in the Asia Cup 2018 and the bowlers and the fielders turned the game around from an impossible position. 

Meanwhile, Shahzad achieved a rare feat in Dubai as the 30-year-old batsman equaled Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi'sunique record of an ODI hundred in lowest team scores, after slamming hundred in the Asia Cup 2018 match against India when the team's total was just 131 on the board.
