Australia survived an injury scare after their key batsman Aaron Finch was hit on his right hand during the practice session at Adelaide Oval.

Finch's hand was strapped and was cleared to continue batting after being assessed by a team doctor. “A bit of mayo on that from Finchy,” Mitchell Marsh said. “If you get out of our net session and you’re not injured, you’ve had a good net. I’m still in one piece. We’ve all trained exceptionally well. We’ve prepared as best we possibly can.”

Finch is set to feature in the first Test on Thursday. His batting partner hasn't been decided yet. “I haven’t spoken to Painey. I’m sure we’ll find out soon,” Marsh said.

Not the first time in recent time Finch has got himself injured. Even before the start of ODI series against South Africa, the opener was struck on the same by the same bowler Mitchell Starc at the WACA, Perth.

India and Australia have already met each other in three-match T20I series which ended with 1-1 after rain washed out one of the game.

Virat Kohli and men have also suffered a serious injury blow. Their opener Prithvi Shaw has been forced to sit out of the first game after an ankle injury in practice match.
