In an open letter, CA said they are grateful to the BCCI for their "friendship, trust and commitment" in delivering a series that "brought joy to many millions of people around the world at a time they needed it the most."
CA termed the just-concluded Test series between the two sides as “one of the greatest Border-Gavaskar Test series ever contested.”
Team India on Tuesday (January 19) defeated Australia by 3 wickets in Brisbane to clinch the four-Test series 2-1.
India were chasing 328 in the fourth innings at the Gabba. It took the visitors Shubman Gill's 91-run knock, followed by Cheteshwar Pujara's 211-ball 56 and Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 89 runs to get over the line.
Earlier, Australia had won the ODI series 2-1 while India had bounced back to secure the T20I series by same margin.
In the letter, CA also had words of praise of stand-in India skipper Ajinkya Rahane, Player-of-the-Series Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, Steve Smith, and debutants Shubman Gill and Cameron Green.
At the end, Cricket Australia hailed BCCI's cooperation amid "many public health and logistical challenges."
“Despite the many public health and logistical challenges, the BCCI engaged with a spirit of cooperation befitting their status as one of international sport’s greatest ambassadors.”
"We will never forget the sacrifices made by our friends at the BCCI that made all this possible," the letter read.
CA chairman Earl Eddings and interim CEO Nick Hockley signed on the letter, congratulating Team India on retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
