ICC has banned the use of saliva to the shine the ball because of COVID-19 pandemic.
India cricketer Mayank Agarwal used a different technique to shine the ball after ICC's restriction to use saliva. Mayank used sweat from India fast bowler Shardul Thakur's arms to shine the red cherry in the fourth Test against Australia.
Cricket.com.au shared a glimpse of the incident on Twitter. Mayank goes to Shardul and hands over his cap before rubbing the ball on his right arm to use the sweat.
"Modern-day shining techniques," Cricket Australia's official Twitter account wrote.
Shardul picked up four wickets in the second innings of the final Test. His bowling partner Mohammed Siraj bagged a fifer in his third Test of the career.
India managed to bowl out Australia on 294 in the second innings to get a target of 328 to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. They ended the fourth day's play on 4/0 with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in the middle before rain's interruption.
