Jadeja had to cover a lot of ground and then aim at only one stump.
India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja showed world-class fielding to get rid of Australia's Steve Smith in the first innings of the third Test. Smith, who scored a hundred on day 2 at SCG, made a mistake by trying to steal a double from Jadeja.
Jadeja is considered among the finest fielders in the world currently. When the 32-year-old saw Smith pushing for the double off Jasprit Bumrah, he sprinted from the deep square leg toward the short fine leg and managed to get a direct hit.
It was an outstanding work from Jadeja keeping in mind that he had to cover a lot of ground and then aim at only one stump from that angle.
The Cricket fraternity lauded the contribution from Jadeja on the field, after picking up four wickets with the ball on day three. Australia were bowled out for 338 and Smith was the last one to be dismissed on 131 runs.
