Jadeja became only the third cricketer to represent India in 50 games across formats.
The Boxing Day against Australia in Melbourne was Jadeja’s 50th appearance in the longest format. He played a key role in the match with both bat and ball to script India’s thumping 8-wicket victory.
After the historic win at MCG, Jadeja took to Instagram and wrote: “It's always been a childhood dream of mine to represent the country and to do so in 50 matches across all 3 formats is something I had never imagined. It's a great honour to join Mahi Bhai and Virat as the only others to have achieved this feat.”
“A big thank you to the BCCI, my team mates, the brilliant support staff for showing faith in me and for always backing me. I will continue to give my best for the country. Onwards and upwards. Jai Hind,” he added.
Ravindra Jadeja produced a brilliant knock of 57 which helped India take a crucial 131-run lead in the first innings while he claimed three wickets in the game as the tourists registered a series-levelling win in Melbourne.
Apart from 50 Tests, Jadeja has played 168 ODIs and 50 T20Is for India. He has more than 4500 runs to his name in international cricket and picked up 443 wickets across all three forms of the game.
