In the opening Day, Australia ‘A’ got bowled out for 108 in reply to Indians' 194 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Batting in the second innings, the visitors lost Prithvi Shaw (3) cheaply but Mayank Agarwal (61), Shubman Gill (65) struck half-centuries to put the team in a strong position.
Skipper Ajinkya Rahane also made a strokeful 38 before he became Mark Steketee’s second victim.
While rain played spoilsport in the major part of the second session, Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant wreaked havoc on Australia ‘A’ bowling attack in the third and final session.
Vihari and Pant shared an unbeaten 147-run stand for the fifth wicket as Indians ended the second day on 386/4 in their second innings.
In particular, Pant was severe on the opposition bowlers. The southpaw brought up his century in just 73 deliveries and remained unbeaten on 103 at stumps. On the other hand, Vihari finished with 104 not out off 194 balls.
