India's limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma has been in the news since he pulled his hamstring in an IPL game prior to the week of the Final. He had been made to know what the complications were about his injury and Sharma had understood that.

According to Indian skipper Virat Kohli, the rest of the Indian team thought that Rohit Sharma would be on the flight to Australia as he was seen making a comeback after a couple of IPL games on the bench.

Whatever further proceedings have happened with the cricketer, at the NCA or in Mumbai, has not been conveyed to the national captain.

Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir believes that the captain should know all of this as he is the one who faces all the criticism and fire from fans and journalists. He mentioned that Kohli should be backed in this matter as he has not been informed well about the events going on with Rohit Sharma.

Gambhir told ESPNCricInfo, "That’s not right. You have to back Virat Kohli on this. He’s the captain, he’s the guy who is leading on the cricket field. He’s the guy who is going to face the criticism. He’s the guy who has got to face all the fire."

"So he should be always there in the mix. He should know exactly what’s happening with all the players," he added.

As of now, Rohit Sharma will have to undergo a fitness test on December 11 to decide whether he'll be on the flight to Australia or not.
