CA announced fixtures for Team India’s tour Down Under on Wednesday.
Moreover, a report published in Reuters claims that authorities are targetting crowds of at least 25,000 people per day at the iconic MCG for the second Test between Australia and India.
According to the report, Victoria state sports minister Martin Pakula said the government would make a plan with CA and MCG to allow the famed 100,000-seat stadium to be at one-quarter capacity for the Boxing Day Test.
"We've been really clear with Cricket Australia and the MCG that we'll make final decisions about numbers closer to the day, depending on the epidemiological situation that abides at the time," Pakula quoted as saying by Reuters.
"At this stage, (25,000) is what we believe would be the safe and appropriate number per day here at the MCG."
Team India will play three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests during the tour of Australia.
Virat Kohli and company will arrive in Australia on November 12 and serve quarantine and other COVID-19 protocols before the first of three one-day internationals on November 27.
After the ODI series, the three T20Is will be held in Canberra and Sydney from December 4 to December 8.
The battle for the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kick-start with the pink-ball affair at the Adelaide Oval on December 17. Melbourne will host the second Test while the third and fourth Tests will be played in Sydney Cricket Ground (January 7-11) and Brisbane's Gabba (January 15-19), respectively.
