New Zealand’s famous Eden Park witnessed the most bizarre dismissal of a T20 International game between the hosts and Australia of the 2017–18 Trans-Tasman Tri-Series on Friday (16 February).

Maybe it was a run-fest for the other batsmen at a batting- friendly wicket in Auckland, but the Black Caps batsman Mark Chapman was unlucky on the day. Meanwhile, Martin Guptill became the leading run-scorer in T20Is, smashing a 54-ball 105 –hitting nine sixes and six boundaries to help New Zealand to post their joint-highest ODI total of 243/6 against Australia, which already reached the final of the series.

Meanwhile, the Eden Park wicket was dangerous for the bowlers with Australia’s Andrew Tye and New Zealand’s Ben Wheeler, producing two of the costliest spells ever: 4-0-64-2 and 3.1-0-64-0, respectively in the One Day history.

Well, amidst the run-fest, Chapman, who came to bat at No 4, was not lucky enough to make a mark in the friendly Auckland wicket, scoring just 16 off 14 balls and finished his innings in a bizarre manner.

It was all happened during New Zealand's the 18th over when Australian speedster Billy Stanlake’s bouncer knocked off Chapman’s helmet from his head, and things even went worse when his helmet went on to hit the wickets to knock the bails off. The Hong Kong-born batsman smiled while leaving crease after finishing his innings in a strange manner in Auckland.

However, Australia managed to chase down the target in 18.5 overs with David Warner (59) D Arcy Short (76) and win the game by 5-wicket to continue their winning streak in the Tri-series.
