England trails 0-1 in the five-Test series after loss in 1st Test in Brisbane.

Mark Wood has been rested for the second Test in Adelaide | GettyThe England and Wales Board (ECB) have named a 12-man squad for the upcoming second Test match against Australia of the ongoing Ashes 2021-22 to be played in Adelaide. The match will be a D/N affair and will be played with a pink ball.

England lost the first Test in Gabba, Brisbane by 9 wickets after collapsing in the first innings, where they were bowled out for 147 runs. The visitors didn’t have a good outing on day four in the second innings as well, as Joe Root and Dawid Malan failed to continue their good form from the previous day.

"We should not jump to conclusions," Gavaskar comments on Rohit and Virat's rift rumors

The 12-man squad sees pacer Mark Wood being rested and veteran seamer James Anderson is included in the team. Jack Leach manages to hang on to his spot in the squad given that the Adelaide pitch assists spinners traditionally.

Rory Burns has also kept his place despite failures with the bat in both innings at Gabba and crucial drop catches.

The final XI will be confirmed at the toss.

England Men's Squad for second Ashes Test:

Joe Root (C), Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Haseeb Hameed, Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes
