IPL 2026: WATCH- Shah Rukh Khan and Sourav Ganguly share a warm hug; Fans clamor for Dada’s return to KKR fold

Former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Sourav Ganguly and KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan shared a warm hug in the dressing room during KKR v PBKS IPL 2026 game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 6.

Unfortunately, the game was called off due to continuous rain after KKR had made 25/2 in 2.4 overs with captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi at the crease. KKR had opted to bat first after winning the toss.

Shah Rukh, KKR's co-owner, was present at the location with his daughter Suhana Khan and was seen exchanging pleasantries with Ganguly, the current president of the Cricket Association of Bengal. The two embraced like old friends, posed for photos, and were momentarily joined by India and KKR pacer Harshit Rana, who is out for the season owing to an injury.

KKR shared the nostalgic moment on social media with the caption: “When the KING met the PRINCE OF BENGAL.”

The video soon went viral and fans of both Shah Rukh Khan and Sourav Ganguly shared the video multiple times on social media. While many fans soaked in the nostalgia, several urged Shah Rukh to bring Ganguly back to the franchise — this time in a coaching role.
