Shubman Gill won the Player of the Match and Series as India whitewashed Zimbabwe 3-0.
India had batted first after winning the toss and thanks to 130 from Shubman Gill, his maiden ODI century, and 50 from Ishan Kishan, posted 289/8 in 50 overs. Shikhar Dhawan (40) and KL Rahul (30) also contributed well.
For Zimbabwe Brad Evans was the pick of the bowlers as he took his maiden ODI fifer- 5/54.
In reply, Sikandar Raza took on the Indian bowlers with a sublime 115 runs with 9 fours and 3 sixes, while getting support from Sean Williams (45) and Brad Evans (28). But in the end, Indian bowlers prevailed as Zimbabwe was bowled out for 276 and lost by 13 runs. Avesh Khan picked 3/66, while Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akshar Patel picked two wickets each.
Shubman Gill was named the Player of the Match and Player of the Series as well.
As it has been the tradition recently that the Indian team celebrates their victories in a unique way, especially when Shikhar Dhawan is involved given his involvement on social media. It was seen during the ODI series win over West Indies and something hilarious and energetic was seen here as well.
The Indian team including captain KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Shikhar danced to the Bollywood number ‘Kaala Chashma’ with Ishan Kishan showing off some cool dance moves including twerking on the floor.
