Gill also slammed his maiden century in the third ODI against Zimbabwe.
Chasing 290 to win, Zimbabwe batter Sikandar Raza took the hosts close to the target with a stunning hundred. However, the right-hander got out in the penultimate over for 95-ball 115 and the home team fell 13 runs short of the target.
In his attempt to hit a big shot, Raza tried to smash Shardul Thakur over long-on but he didn’t get the desired elevation. Gill, on the other hand, timed his forward jump to perfection to pluck the catch inches above the ground.
