ZIM v IND 2022: KL Rahul cleared to play; set to lead Team India in 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe
VVS Laxman will be the head coach of the Indian team on the Zimbabwe tour as Rahul Dravid just returned from a two-month tour of the UK and the West Indies. India will play three ODIs, part of the ICC Super League, in Zimbabwe.
Yesterday, KL Rahul was added to the squad and was named captain of the side in place of Shikhar Dhawan who had been named the captain earlier. Rahul passed his fitness test and the BCCI sent him to Zimbabwe on his own request with an aim to ensure he has vital match-time ahead of the Asia Cup.
The team is managed by Laxman's National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff. Among other support staff members traveling to Harare are Sairaj Bahutule and Hrishikesh Kanitkar. The three ODIs are on August 18, 20, and 22, at the Harare Sports Club.
