Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women’s captain Smriti Mandhana has revealed that she couldn’t hear a thing Virat Kohli said on the video call after her team became WPL 2024 champions. RCB defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final on March 17, 2024 in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley stadium.

Kohli had a chat with Mandhana right after RCB ended their title drought after beating Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets. However, the RCB women's skipper said she didn't hear anything that the Indian star's message was unclear as it was too loud at the Arun Jaitley stadium.

Mandhana also said that Kohli was happy with the performance of the team and gave a thumbs up. The RCB skipper also remembered the time when Kohli came in to have a pep talk with them.

“They keep saying 'Ee sala cup namde' and we got it,” Shreyanka Patil after RCB lift WPL 2024 trophy

I didn’t hear anything he was saying because it was too loud, he was like just thumbs up and I just did thumbs up, I will be meeting him. He looked happy there was a bright smile. I remember him coming last year and a little pep talk which really helped me personally as well as the whole team. He has been a part of this franchise and I think he has been there for the past 15 years so I could see that happiness on his face but because of the noise I couldn’t hear him, maybe I will chat to him when we go to Bengaluru,” said Mandhana after the match.

Mandhana also revealed that while the rest of the team members and support staff were celebrating the win, she went into the dressing room and sat alone for a few minutes to let the win sink in.

"The first thing I did was I went to the dressing room and sat. It's hard to celebrate the way others do. I don't know, there's some defect,” Mandhana added.
