India will now face West Indies in a three-match ODI series, starting July 27.
After the red-ball assignment, Team India’s focus shifts towards white-ball cricket. The Men in Blue will now take on West Indies in three ODIs and five T20Is.
The 50-over series is due to get underway on July 27 in Barbados. Ahead of the first ODI, however, the visitors faced some issues while travelling from Trinidad to Barbados.
According to a report published in The Indian Express, the Indian team was supposed to fly at 11 pm from Trinidad and reach Barbados early morning but their flight took off late, by 3 am, and they landed in their next destination only by 5 am.
The report also claims that the Indian team management has requested the BCCI for better planning when they travel to the next destination, asking to fly in the morning instead of late night.
“They had left the hotel by 8:40 pm for the airport and had to wait for a long time at the airport. The team management has requested us to book a morning flight instead of late night flights as players want some rest post game. The BCCI has agreed to it and is planning to revise the next schedule,” The Indian Express quoted a source in the BCCI as saying.
Meanwhile, senior players have reportedly requested the Indian team management for a day off from practice in Barbados.
Rohit Sharma and his men will play the first two ODIs in Barbados on July 27 and 29 before flying back to Trinidad to play the third ODI on August 1.
