Widely regarded as one of the finest batters of the modern era, Virat Kohli enjoys a massive fan following across the globe.

On Friday (July 21), the cricket fraternity once again got a glimpse of Kohli’s craze outside of India as a video of the mother of a West Indies cricketer hugging, kissing and then getting emotional after meeting the star Indian batter went viral on social media.

During the opening day of the second Test between India and West Indies in Port of Spain, wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva had a fun banter with Kohli.

“My mom told me on the phone that she’s coming to see Virat and not me. That’s literally what my mom said. I couldn’t believe it. I don’t blame her to be honest. She’s right up there watching," Joshua was caught saying on stump mic.

Later, RevSportz shared a video of the meeting between Kohli and Joshua’s mother Caroline Da Silva on Twitter.

“You’re wonderful, you have a beautiful wife,” Caroline told Kohli as the two interacted. She then proceeded to click a picture with the former Indian skipper.

In a chat later, Caroline hailed Kohli as a blessed, talented human being and wished her son emulates him.

“I told Joshua that I was coming to this game just to see Virat Kohli and not him because I see him every day. That was the first time I met Virat Kohli and he was wonderful as he is - a beautiful, blessed human being. He is so talented and I hope my son emulates him,” she stated.

On Day 2 of the second Test against West Indies, Kohli slammed his 29th Test century. Resuming his innings at 87*, the right-hander reached the three-figure mark with a boundary off Shannon Gabriel in the 71st over.

With this hundred, Kohli didn’t only end a five-year wait for an overseas Test century but also equal the legendary Sir Donald Bradman’s tally of 29 Test tons. His stay in the middle came to an end when he was run out on 121.

Thanks to Kohli’s hundred and half-centuries from Rohit Sharma (80), Jadeja (61), Yashasvi Jaiswal (57) and R Ashwin (56), India piled up 438/10 in their first innings.

In reply, the hosts were at 86/1 at the close of play on Day 2, with skipper Kraigg Brathwaite (37*) and Kirk McKenzie (14*) unbeaten in the middle.
