WI v IND 2023: WATCH- Joshua da Silva asks Virat Kohli to get his 100; reveals his mother was coming to watch him bat

Virat Kohli ended day one on 87 with India at 288/4.

Indian batter Virat Kohli was asked by West Indies keeper-batter Joshua da Silva to get to his century in a total fanboy moment during day one of the second Test between the two sides that got underway on July 20 in Trinidad.

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and chose to bowl first and they had Kirk McKenzie making his debut for him. Indian team also gave a debut to pacer Mukesh Kumar, who replaced Shardul Thakur in the playing XI.

Rohit Sharma (80) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (57) continued their good run of form and added 139 runs for the opening wicket. Then India lost two more quick wickets in Shubman Gill (10) and Ajinkya Rahane (8).

But Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja added 106* unbeaten runs for the fifth wicket to help India finish the day on 288/4. Kohli remained unbeaten on 87, while Jadeja is 36*.

Meanwhile, during the penultimate over of the third session, Windies keeper Joshua da Silva had a fanboy moment and asked Virat Kohli to get to his hundred quickly. “Get your 100, Virat,” he said.

To this Kohli replied: “You're obsessed with my milestones?!” and Da Silva replied: “I know I am, I want you to get your 100.”

Later, he also revealed on the stump mic that his mother told him that she would be coming to the Queen’s Park Oval to watch Kohli bat.

My mom called me and told me she’s coming to watch the match for Virat Kohli, I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
