The first Test between West Indies and India being played at Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica has seen India dominating the proceeding right from the start after they had dismissed the hosts for 150 runs in 1st innings.

Indian spinner R Ashwin had picked 5/60 and Ravindra Jadeja had picked three wickets. Then in reply, the Indian team posted 312/2 at the end of the second day.

To make this occasion even more joyous, both Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered tons and added 229 runs for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma got out for 103, soon after bringing up his second overseas and overall 10th Test century.

Then Shubman Gill for out for 6 runs in his first stint at the no.3 spot. But the determined Yashasvi Jaiswal went from strength to strength at the other end, first bringing up his fifty in 104 balls.

And then he became only the third Indian opener to score a century in his debut Test innings, as he reached the milestone on his 215th delivery.

On the other end, Virat Kohli was mad to work hard on a slow pitch to get momentum in his knock and had to spend 80 balls without scoring a boundary as the West Indies spinners were getting both spin and bounce from the surface.
