Pakistan beat world champions the West Indies by
three runs in the second Twenty20 international at the Queen’s Park Oval in
Trinidad on Thursday to take a 2-0 lead in the four-game series.
Pakistan, who won the first match by six wickets in Barbados, were dismissed
for 132 as spinners Sunil Narine and Samuel Badree combined effectively to give
the West Indies an excellent chance of levelling the series. But Pakistan
defended their second-lowest T20 total with Shadab Khan taking four for 14 as
West Indies made 129 for eight. 3rd and 4th T20I will be played on 1st
and 2nd April at the same venue. 4-0 will take Pakistan to No.3 and 3-1
will take Pakistan to No.4.
       Best
economical pick & Smart pick – Marlon Samuels was
batting well and looked in good flow. He played some classic shots and stitched
a 50-run stand with Walton, keeping the West Indies in the hunt. But it was
Shadab Khan who foxed him and that swung the momentum in favor of the tourists.
It all came to the last over when West Indies required 14 off 6 balls with 2
wickets left. Hasan Ali successfully defended 14 runs. Sunil
Narine scored two fours on the first two balls but later got run out. West
Indies required 5 off 1 ball with 1 wicket in hand to win. Jason Holder
couldn’t hit hard and Pakistan won the match by 3 runs.
         Top
captains & vice captains – The 18-year-old young sensational
leggie Shadab Khan has played just 2 international matches
till now and impressed all of us. He has bowled 8 overs and picked up 7 wickets
with 1 maiden over. Shadab also won man of the match award in first 2 T20I
matches. So you can select him as your captain without any hesitation. There
was a 33-run stand from 32 balls for the 7th wicket between Holder andCarlos
Brathwaite with the former being the aggressor. The skipper was
perhaps slow to get going and it put his side under pressure. Finally, Hasan
Ali bowled an intelligent final over and defended 13 runs to lead his side to
victory. Â
       Cautions
Pick – Pakistan suffered a loss in the first over with Kamran
Akmal’s wicket. He went for a duck. After a successful PSL Kamran Akmal has
failed in first 2 matches of this series. Pakistan struggled throughout the
innings. Wahab Riaz in the end scored 24 off 10 deliveries. Pakistan was
all-out for 132 in 20 overs.
