Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal got married in 2020 and got divorced recently.
She has endured constant trolling after the divorce, with many unjustly calling her a "gold digger." Dhanashree has now opened up about her marriage, the criticism she has received, and how she has opted for dignity over contempt. During a recent job on the show, she also made subtle jabs at the trolls and Chahal.
As she engaged with other competitors, Dhanashree thought back on her post-breakup path. She acknowledged that there are a few things she could divulge, but she emphasized that her top priority is respect.
“When you are married, you also hold the responsibility of safeguarding your partner’s respect. If I had wanted to, I could have disrespected him, too. Don’t think I have nothing to say as a woman—I do. But he was my husband. I respected him during our marriage, and even now, I continue to respect the fact that he was my husband,” Dhanashree can be seen telling other contestants.
Contestants had to choose between a silver bag worth ₹ 1 lakh and a gold bag worth ₹ 2 lakh during a task. Actor Arjun Bijlani, with whom she was matched, made a lighthearted comment.
He said, “Gold suits me better than silver or diamonds.”
Seizing the moment, Dhanashree gave a tongue-in-cheek response that seemed aimed at the criticism she has faced since the divorce.
She quipped, “That’s a line I can’t use. If I say it, then even the love I might get in the future won’t come my way.”
