MS Dhoni's sporting venture of 7padel opened in Chennai.
Padel, a racquet sport blending tennis and squash, is played on an enclosed court smaller than a tennis court — typically in doubles — making it fast-paced and social.
The expansive 20,000-square-foot complex in Palavakkam, ECR, features three padel courts, a pickleball court, a swimming pool, a gym, a recuperation area, a café, and a sauna. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings, attended the launch celebrations as well.
The video of the pair making shots on the court went viral very fast, giving the brand's debut a little celebrity power.
“Chennai has always been special to me. The city has given me so much on and off the field, and it feels only right to launch my first padel centre here. Padel is exciting and addictive. More importantly, it’s inclusive, and anyone, not just professionals, can try the sport. I want 7Padel to be a place where athletes, families, and fitness lovers all find their space,” Dhoni said at the inauguration.
