R Ashwin is captaining Dindigul Dragons in TNPL 2025.
The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2025) saw former Indian cricketer R Ashwin in a rage. The 38-year-old Dindigul Dragons player was declared leg before wicket by IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans bowler Sai Kishore.
After a lengthy altercation with the umpire, Ashwin was spotted storming off the field and slamming his bat against his pads in frustration.
“Ashwin is saying ‘he has bowled this from over the stumps, ma’am’, arguing his case that it was pitched well outside leg stump,” commentators said on the air.
Dindigul Dragons burnt both their reviews in the opening over in the hope of overturning the wide call from the umpire.
After Ashwin fell, the Dragons were unable to mount much of a score. Along with RK Jayant, Ashwin has the second-highest score of 18. Dragons were dismissed for just 93 runs from 16.2 overs, with Shivam Singh leading the way with 30.
Tamizhans' top bowler was Esakkimuthu, who took four wickets, while M Mathivannan picked three.
