De Villiers played some stunning shots and used the wheelchair to run between the wickets.
South African legend AB de Villiers won the hearts of fans as he joined the Mumbai wheelchair cricket team for a practice session at Islam Gymkhana, Marine Lines.
Showing great sportsmanship, de Villiers sat in a wheelchair, played some stunning strokes and also used the wheelchair to run between the wickets.
His gesture brought immense joy to players and fans alike. Spectators recorded the special moments through pictures and videos.
AB de Villiers has been closely following the IPL 2025 season and was over the moon after his former franchise RCB reached the final by beating PBKS in Qualifier 1 on May 29.
After the win, de Villiers delivered a message to the passionate RCB fans. “The time has come. RCB is going all the way. I am not allowed to say the Bengaluru terms (Ee Saala Cup Namde) because of Virat (Kohli). He told me that I am not allowed to say that anymore, but I truly believe we are going all the way this season. So stay tuned, buckle up and enjoy the ride," he said while speaking on ESPNcricinfo.
Despite having made it to the IPL final on three previous occasions (2009, 2011, and 2016), RCB are still chasing their maiden title.
In the IPL 2025 final, slated to be held in Ahmedabad on June 3, RCB will face the winner of Qualifier 2 between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings.
