70 terrorists killed and around 60 more injured as India fired 24 missiles in Pakistan in 35 minutes.
On the night of May 7, 2025, Indian armed forces, including the army and the air force, conducted a strike inside Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, hitting 9 locations where terrorist hideouts were marked by Indian intelligence.
India launched 24 missiles within 25 minutes, killing 70 terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and striking nine terror sites. Under the secret name Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force jointly carried out the strikes on May 7 from 1:05 AM to 1:30 AM.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, flanked by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi, described the operation as a "measured and proportionate" reaction to the terror assault that occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22.
26 persons, including one Nepali national, were killed in that attack, which was ascribed to terror organizations with headquarters in Pakistan. Numerous others were injured.
Facilities in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal—all of which intelligence agencies have long suspected of housing terrorist camps—were the targets of the missile strikes.
These sites were thought to be connected to the terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), which have carried out several assaults in India over the years.
Four of the nine targets were on Pakistan's mainland, and five were in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Notably, Bahawalpur has been recognized as a JeM stronghold. Indian security agencies had earlier identified Bhimber and Muzaffarabad as logistics and transit hubs for infiltration into Kashmir.
In the aftermath, the Indian cricket fraternity was all joyous and reacted positively to the armed forces’ Operation Sindoor on social media.
