India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is quite a funny character both on and off the field. On Monday (March 17), he gave another glimpse of his humorous nature by recreating the now-viral clip of Sunil Gavaskar shouting “stupid, stupid, stupid”.
During the 2024/25 Test tour of Australia, Pant face the wrath of Gavaskar when he threw away his wicket in the Boxing Day Test at MCG.
The southpaw attempted an adventurous shot and was caught at third man, leading to Gavaskar losing his cool in the commentary box.
"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! You've got two fielder there and you still go for that. You've missed the previous shot and look where you've been caught. You've caught at deep third man. That is throwing away your wicket. Not in the situation that India was. You have to understand the situation as well. You cannot say that is your natural game. I am sorry that is not your natural game. That is a stupid shot. That is letting your team down badly. He should not be going in that (Indian) dressing room, he should be going into the other dressing room," Gavaskar had said on ABC Sport.
Nearly three months later, Pant mimicked the same and shared the video on social media platform Instagram, which looked like it was shot for a brand.
