Pakistan’s new white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan faced backlash on social media following his team's 13-run defeat to Australia in the second T20I at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday (November 16).

Chasing a modest target of 148, Pakistan’s innings folded for 134 in 19.4 overs. Usman Khan waged a lone battle with the bat for the visitors as he scored 52 off 38 balls.

Amid all the failures, Rizwan's flop show caught the most flak. Opening the innings, he scored 16 runs off 26 balls with only one boundary.

Rizwan's struggle to accelerate despite batting in the powerplay left the Pakistani fans angry. They vented out their frustrations through tweets, with some calling for his retirement from the shortest format.

Here are the reactions:

Earlier, Pakistan rode on Haris Rauf’s fantastic bowling performance (4-22) to restrict the Aussies to 147/9 in 20 overs. Abbas Afridi (3-17) and Sufiyan Muqeem (2-21) also returned with exceptional spells with the ball.

With this loss, Pakistan conceded an unassailable 0-2 lead in the three-match series. The Men Green will look to register a consolation victory in the third and final T20I match in Hobart on Monday (November 18).
