India A’s Ramandeep Singh produced a moment of brilliance to dismiss Pakistan A's Yasir Khan.
Ramandeep Singh plucked an incredible catch to dismiss Yasir Khan in the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 match between India A and Pakistan A on Saturday (October 19).
Chasing 184 to win, Pakistan A lost their skipper Mohammad Haris for just 6 on the second delivery. However, another opener Yasir Khan played fearless cricket in the powerplay.
Yasir was looking to keep up the pace after the fielding restrictions was over. The right-hander went after Nishant Sindhu on the first delivery of the 9th over but Ramandeep’s stellar effort at mid-wicket boundary resulted in his dismissal.
Yasir Khan smashed a length delivery on the backfoot with enough power and it appeared to be a flat six before Ramandeep pulled off a dive to his right to claim the catch, leaving everyone stunned.
Soon after the catch, former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik took to 'X' and wrote: “Wowowowwwwww That catch from RAMANDEEP SINGH has to go down as one of the greatest catches ever by an Indian Stunning Spellbound Unreal”.
Coming to the match, India A registered a thrilling seven-run victory over their arch-rivals at Al Amerat, Oman.
Opting to bat first, India A posted 183/8 on the board thanks to key contributions from skipper Tilak Varma (44 off 35), Prabhsimran Singh (36 off 19) and Abhishek Sharma (35 off 22).
In reply, Pakistan A managed to reach 176/7 in 20 overs. Arafat Minhas was the top scorer with 29-ball 41 while Yasir (33), Qasim Akram (27) and Abdul Samad (25) chipped with handy contributions but they failed to take their team over the finishing line.
Anshul Kamboj starred with the ball for India A, returning with the figures of 3 for 33 in his four overs. Nishant Sindhu and Rasikh Salam also bagged a couple of scalps each.
