Sarfaraz Khan added more than 100 runs with skipper Ajinkya Rahane who made 97.

Sarfaraz Khan of Mumbai scored an amazing century in the ongoing Irani Cup 2024 match against the Rest of India. The game is being played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Rest of India captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai lost their first three wickets cheaply as Prithvi Shaw (4), Ayush Mhatre (14), and Hardik Tamore (0) didn’t do much with the bat.

But then skipper Ajinkya Rahane (97) and Shreyas Iyer (57) added 102 runs for the 4th wicket to stabilize the innings. After Iyer fell, Rahane was joined by Sarfaraz Khan, who took the attack on the ROI bowlers.

Rahane fell to Yash Dayal three short of his hundred after adding 131 runs with Sarfaraz who continued merrily. Sarfaraz brought up his ton in 149 balls and played some breathtaking shots as he had to consolidate the Mumbai innings.

At the time of writing this piece, Sarfaraz had scored 115 runs with 16 fours to his name. He is adding valuable runs with Tanush Kotian in the lower order.
