Yograj Singh slammed MS Dhoni for ruining his son's career.
Yograj's comments emphasize a long-standing issue, claiming that Dhoni's influence hampered Yuvraj's career, despite his significant contributions to Indian cricket, particularly in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup under Dhoni's leadership.
Yuvraj's 17-year cricket career was filled with notable accomplishments, including crucial contributions in India's victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.
However, his appearances for the national team declined after 2014, with his final international encounter coming in 2017 against the West Indies. Yograj credits this reduction to Dhoni's influence over squad selection decisions.
In a recent interview on the Zee Switch YouTube channel, Yograj expressed his deep resentment towards Dhoni, stating: "I won't forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son can never be forgiven in life. I have never forgiven anyone who has wronged me, and I never will, even if they are family. That man (MS Dhoni) destroyed my son's career, which could have lasted four to five more years."
In his illustrious career for India, Yuvraj Singh amassed nearly 12,000 runs and scored 17 centuries in 402 matches across formats.
Meanwhile amidst this an old video of Yuvraj Singh speaking about his father having some mental illness and him refusing to admit the same has gone viral on social media.
"I think my father has mental issues and he just doesn't want to accept it," Yuvraj had said on Beer Biceps podcast.
