Pakistan lost the 1st Test by 10 wickets despite declaring first innings on 448/6.
Bangladesh had done well to score 565 runs in answer to Pakistan’s 448/6d in the first innings. Then spinners Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan picked seven wickets between themselves in Pakistan's second innings as Bangladesh folded the hosts for just 146 runs.
Miraz (4-21) and Shakib (3-44) wreaked havoc with the ball on the final day of the match, exposing Pakistan's error of not including a single specialist spinner in the Rawalpindi lineup. Only Mohammad Rizwan resisted somwhat, scoring 51 in addition to his first innings score of 171*.
Following the match, a video went viral on social media, implying that all is not well in Pakistan's dressing room despite their humbling loss at home. The video shows skipper Masood standing close to fast bowler Shaheen Afridi during a team hurdle when the latter removes the former's arms off his shoulders.
Masood shocked at Shaheen’s gesture, quietly removes his hand from the pacer’s shoulder.
