India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day on August 15, 2024, with pride and dignity, and members of the Indian cricket team have taken to X (previously Twitter) to express their delight and pride with the world and their supporters.

It remains a watershed moment in Indian history when the country earned independence from the British Empire in 1947. The flag-raising ceremony and other traditional ceremonies happened at New Delhi's famous Red Fort.

Like last year, the central government pushed the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' project, which urged common citizens to fly the tricolor at their homes and received an amazing response. People from many walks of life celebrated the occasion in their unique ways.

This time to mark the 78th Independence Day of India, the Indian national flag will be hoisted at the newly constructed tallest flagpole in the country, located in Attari, Punjab. The flagpole stands at an impressive height of 418 feet.

The Indian government also released a special commemorative coin to celebrate the 78th Independence Day. The coin features iconic symbols of India’s freedom struggle, including the Ashoka Chakra and the tricolor.

Meanwhile, several members of the Indian cricket fraternity conveyed messages of togetherness, diversity, and patriotism, capturing the spirit of the occasion.
