R Ashwin, who is captaining Dindigul Dragons in the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2024), received a warning from the opposition bowler to stay in his crease, in a recent match against Nellai Royal Kings on July 28, 2024.

Nellai captain G Ajitesh won the toss and chose to bowl first at NPR Ground in Dindigul. The home team's batting lineup completely collapsed against some disciplined bowling. Shivam Singh scored 70 in 59 balls and single-handedly powered his team to 136 runs.

R Ashwin was the only other batter to reach double figures as he scored 15 in 13 balls.

During his knock, a funny incident happened as R Ashwin, who is a known advocate for running out batters at non-striker’s end, was warned by the bowler to stay inside his crease.

The incident happened in the 15th over of the Dindigul innings, when left-arm spinner Mohan Prasath was about to deliver the ball, Ashwin began to move forward, getting ready for a run. But Prasath didn’t deliver the ball and said something to the umpire about Ashwin.

However, replays showed that Ashwin’s bat never got out of the crease despite the bowler’s warning.
