Babar Azam has been slammed for his captaincy and poor batting in recent T20 World Cup.
While speaking about Babar Azam’s leadership style, former India keeper-batter Parthiv Patel made a strong statement and called him a selfish captain.
During an episode of the YouTube show Cyrus Says, the chat drifted to Fakhar's lack of run-scoring over the past few years, particularly after the high of the Champions Trophy and the batter's century against India in the final.
Parthiv stated that Babar Azam wanted to open and hence Fakhar Zaman had to bat at no.4 to keep his spot in the Pakistan XI.
“Captain wanted to open, so he had to come down. If the captain is a selfish player, there's no chance,” Parthiv said.

Parthiv’s fellow guest on the show, actress Saiyami Kher pulled his leg and called him brave for commenting such things about the Pakistan captain, Parthiv casually stated that several former Pakistani players have said the same.
“But I've said all of this. There's nothing new in it. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, everyone says that,” said Parthiv.
On the other hand, a video of Harbhajan Singh is going viral for his reaction on the topic of Babar Azam’s comparison to other legendary cricketers of the past.
The clip is from Star Sports' Caught & Bold show in which Harbhajan Singh was asked to choose between Brian Lara and Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara. The Indian picked Lara. This was when he was asked to pick one between Lara and Babar, and what followed was absolute laughter from Harbhajan and other members present in the panel.

The Pakistan cricket team, led by Babar Azam, was eliminated from the first round of the just-ended T20 World Cup. The team suffered a stunning loss against T20 World Cup debutants USA, which played a significant part in their elimination. Later, the squad failed to chase down a 120-run target against India, resulting in another poor performance at the huge event.
