Sussex first team is on a tour of India for pre-season prep.
The Sussex first team is touring India for a pre-season tour. They are currently in Bengaluru and played matches against KSCA XI and one major name featured in the Sussex team, pacer Jofra Archer.
Archer has been out of action since May 2023, after he suffered a recurrence of an elbow stress fracture while playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He played just 4 games for MI in IPL 2023 and had even visited Belgium mid-tournament for his elbow issue.
The pacer's injury reappeared midway through the ODI World Cup, where he was playing as a substitute for England. Archer was sent home after being ruled out of the white-ball series in the West Indies in December, and there is no clear schedule for his comeback.
Despite this, Archer was given a two-year contract by the ECB despite having played just seven white-ball matches for England since March 2021.

Meanwhile in their match against KSCA XI, the Sussex first team lent Jofra Archer to the opposition team and the pacer bowled some excellent deliveries.
In a video posted by Sussex County, Archer can be seen taking the wicket of Tom Alsop. In another tweet, the 28-year-old can be seen standing in a huddle with the other KSCA XI players.

With the T20 World Cup set to take place in the Caribbean and the United States in June and July, England will be hoping Archer can achieve full health in the coming weeks and play an important role in defending the championship.
