The Pakistan Super League fans were left angered after England pacer Reece Topley signed with MI Emirates for the knockout stages of the ongoing ILT20 2024 tournament. This was because, Topley had pulled out of upcoming PSL 2024 just a day before.

MI Emirates also signed Sri Lankan batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa along with USA's wicketkeeper-batter Monank Patel ahead of the Qualifier 1 match. Topley and Monank joined as the replacements for Fazalhaq Farooqi and Corey Anderson respectively. Rajapaksa has joined as the 2nd Wild Card entry of the season.

The reason behind Topley pulling out of PSL 2024 was that the ECB denied the pacer the NOC to play in the tournament. As per the reports, Topley had a niggle and, as part of precautionary measures, he wasn't given NOC to travel to Pakistan for the PSL. He was supposed to represent Multan Sultans in the PSL 2024.

Topley recently played for Durban's Super Giants in the SA20, featuring in 12 matches and he has been retained by Royal Challengers Banglore for the IPL 2024 tournament.

However, the Pakistan cricket fans have not taken Topley pulling out of PSL lightly, especially after signing with MI Emirates for ILT20 and shared their frustration on social media.
