Australia gained 2-0 lead in three-Test series against Pakistan.
Notably, during the lunch break, Starc promised a fan that if the Australian team succeeded in taking all the ten Pakistani wickets by the end of the day, he would give him his shoes. Fortunately for the fan, the hosts were successful in doing so and won the match by 79 runs.
Cricket Australia (CA) published a video on X, formerly Twitter, showing Starc handing away his shoes to a child and signing them for him following the Boxing Day Test. Starc also posed for a selfie with the young fan for additional appareciation.
Meanwhile, Australia captain Pat Cummins was the star as his 10-wicket haul in the match helped the hosts defeat Pakistan by 79 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
While Cummins took 5 wickets each in both innings, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc scalped four wickets each and Josh Hazlewood also took crucial wickets in the Test win.
The third and final Test of the three-match series will be played from 3-7 January 2024 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. The SCG Test will also be last for Australian opener David Warner, who will retire from the longest format.
