Former England captain Michael Vaughan’s social media game is pretty strong. He is often seen trolling fans and cricketers of other countries and his banter with India’s Wasim Jaffer is legendary.

However, his recent victim was Pakistan’s Mohammed Hafeez after the former Men in Green captain criticized a knock played by Virat Kohli in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 and called the great batter ‘selfish’.

On a tricky pitch in Eden Gardens, Kohli's 101* and Shreyas Iyer's 77, paired with Rohit Sharma's 40 and contributions from the lower order, propelled India to 326/5. South Africa was skittled out for 83 runs in response, with Ravindra Jadeja taking five wickets as India triumphed by 243 runs.

While analyzing the India v South Africa CWC 2023 match that was played in Kolkata, Mohammed Hafeez appearing on a Pakistani TV show, said that he saw selfishness in Kohli’s innings as he wanted to play it safe to equal legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

Kohli, according to Hafeez, should have gone for some huge smashes in the final overs instead of collecting up singles.

CWC 2023: “Selfish vs Selfless approach,” Hafeez takes a dig at Kohli while praising Stokes; Vaughan gives him befitting reply

Michael Vaughan responded to the same and said that what Hafeez said was completely nonsense. Vaughan went one step further and trolled Mohammed Hafeez with a photo of Virat Kohli clean-bowling him in the T20 World Cup 2012. And even shared a clip of that instance for good measure.

Vaughan posted on X: “Seems to me @MHafeez22 you were bowled by @imVkohli !!! Is this the reason you constantly have a pop at him .. ???????? #CWC2023 #India #Pakistan

Morning @MHafeez22 .. Have a great day ???????? #India #Pakistan”-Vaughan posted.

Vaughan’s nemesis, Wasim Jaffer jumped into the fray and lauded the ex-England cricketer for coming a long way from trolling India and Indian fans to becoming a Men in Blue fan.

Jaffer posted: “On a podcast @MichaelVaughan said that I hired a professional to banter with him. It's true. But I only did that as I thought he needed professional help. And it's worked. From unnecessarily trolling Ind fans to acting like an Ind fan, look how far he's come! #Proud ???? #CWC2023

Quoting Jaffer’s post, Vaughan said: “Can’t believe it’s not you @WasimJaffer14 .. but let’s carry on the fun .. even if it’s against a professional @clubprairiefire is the podcast by the way
