Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez lashed out at former England captain Michael Vaughan for unnecessarily trolling the 'Men in Green' over their recent controversies in the wake of their poor ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign.

Recently, Babar Azam’s chat leaked, and it created a lot of stir in Pakistan cricket, and even Inzamam-ul-Haq stepped down as chief selector following Pakistan's four consecutive losses at the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023.

Pakistan have lost four of their seven games at the CWC 2023 and find themselves in a tricky situation for semifinal qualification. They are now up against New Zealand in Bengaluru.

Ahead of this crucial match, Vaughan said, taking a dig at Pakistan, that there’s been a lot of calm in the dressing room for couple of days, as he jokingly said that they need someone to resign or leak a WhatsApp message to be headlines during their poor show in the tournament.

Vaughan had posted on X: “I worry about Pakistan tomorrow. It’s been too calm this last couple of days. They need someone to resign today or leak a Whatsapp message.”

This post didn’t go down well with Mohammad Hafeez, as he slammed Vaughan and suggested he stop peeping into others' problems and sort out their own disputes first, as David Willey had announced his retirement after not getting central contract midway through CWC 2023.

Hafeez wrote on X: “Better stop peeping into other’s problem and sort out ur disputes first. We have sizeable insight about our issues and will surely resolve them @MichaelVaughan.”

Vaughan, in his retort, invited Hafeez on his talk show which also involves former Australian wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist.
