Hubli Tigers beat Mysuru Warriors in the final to lift the Maharaja Trophy.
The Warriors captain Karun Nair won the toss and chose to field first and CA Karthik gave the team the apt start, dismissing Luvnith Sisodia for a duck. Mohammed Taha stood tall with a knock of 72in 40 balls.
But the impetus to the innings was given by Manish Pandey, who hit 50* in 23 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours as Hubli Tigers posted 203/8 in 20 overs.
In reply, Ravikumar Samarth made 63, while Karun Nair contributed 37 runs as the match got close in the end. Mysuru Warriors needed 11 runs from the final 4 balls when J Suchith hit Manvanth Kumar’s delivery towards long-off.
The left-hander had made an excellent connection with the ball and it looked like the ball would cross the boundary easily for a six.
He saved 4 crucial runs for his side and the Tigers went on to win the game by 8 runs.
