Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) after the Chandrayaan 3 successfully landed on the south pole of the Moon, making India the first country to achieve this feat.

Launched on July 14, this Chandrayaan-3 mission made a 41-day journey to approach the lunar south pole. Central to the mission's execution was a meticulously designed lander paired with a six-wheeled rover, collectively weighing 1,752 kg.

These advanced components were engineered to function optimally during a single lunar daylight period, which spans around 14 Earth days.

The Chandrayaan 3 successfully landed at the optimal spot on the south pole of the Moon at 6.04 PM IST and made India the fourth country after the United States, the Soviet Union, and China to make a soft landing on the lunar surface.
