India created history as Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) Chandrayaan 3 successfully landed at the South Pole of the moon making the country the first ever to achieve this feat and fourth to make a soft landing at the Earth’s satellite.

Launched on July 14, this Chandrayaan-3 mission made a 41-day journey to approach the lunar south pole. Central to the mission's execution was a meticulously designed lander paired with a six-wheeled rover, collectively weighing 1,752 kg.

These advanced components were engineered to function optimally during a single lunar daylight period, which spans around 14 Earth days.

At 6:04 IST, the lander housing made a gentle landing on the lunar surface, evoking cheers and applause from the gathering of ISRO scientists in Bengaluru.

PM Narendra Modi also closely followed the landing as he connected via a video call from South Africa, where he is currently taking part in the BRICS summit.

This triumph followed a previous unsuccessful attempt almost four years ago and this milestone firmly positions India alongside the esteemed ranks of the United States, the Soviet Union, and China as a nation executing a successful lunar landing.

While the entire nation was celebrating Chandrayaan 3’s soft landing on the moon, the Dhoni household was no different.

MS Dhoni’s daughter Ziva was spotted in an ecstatic mood upon seeing the live feed from ISRO, which showed the Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram Lander making a touchdown on the South Pole of the Moon.
