Pathan was targeted on social media by the Pakistani fans for his old tweets.
India A were undefeated in the Emerging Asia Cup but they got outplayed by the arch-rivals in the summit clash.
Riding on Tayyab Tahir’s blistering century (108 off 71 balls), The Boys in Green piled up a mammoth 352/8 on the board.
In reply, India A’s innings folded for a paltry 224 in 40 overs. Abhishek Sharma waged a lone battle and scored 61 as Boys in Blue suffered a crushing 128-run defeat.
After the result, Pathan was targeted on social media by Pakistani fans for his old tweets. The former India cricketer didn’t hold back either as he called them ‘velle’.
“Ek Sunday ke tweet ko abhi Tak Bhul nahi paae ho. Kitne velle ho? #padosi," wrote Pathan on Twitter.
The tweet Pathan referred to was the post he shortly made after Virat Kohli scripted India’s miraculous victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022.
“Padosiyon Sunday kesa raha," Irfan had tweeted after India’s win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
With India and Pakistan set to square off in the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup later this year, this might not be the last time Irfan Pathan would face off the Pakistani fans on social media.
