Warner has made 141 runs in 3 Tests in Ashes 2023 so far with one fifty.
Warner is currently in England with the Australian team for the Ashes 2023 series in which the hosts just defeated the visitors by 3 wickets in the third Test which was played in Leeds. Australia still leads the five-Test series 2-1 with the fourth Test to be played from July 19 in Manchester.
Alongside Usman Khawaja, Warner has opened the innings for Australia in the first three Ashes Tests but has appeared a pale shadow of his old self.
In 3 Tests, he has 141 runs to his name with one, fifty and in the third Test, he was dismissed once again by Stuart Broad, in both innings of the Test, scoring 4 and 1.
Following Australia’s three-wicket defeat in the third Ashes Test, Warner’s spouse Candice dropped a family picture on Instagram with a note reading, “The end of an era for us touring with Test cricket, it’s been fun. Forever your biggest supporters and your girl gang. Love you, David Warner.”
While the Australian selection panel is yet to confirm the squad for the final two Ashes Tests, Warner’s chance to retain his place at the top of the batting order is in doubt.
Warner had thus far played 107 Tests scoring 8343 runs with 25 centuries and 35 fifties to his name at an average of 44.61 and his best score is 335* which came against Pakistan.
